THE BLUE HIGHWAYS

Formed in early 2018, four-piece Americana band The Blue Highways have quickly cemented themselves as a fixture on the Americana scene in the UK. Named for the forgotten highways and roads that linked American towns and cities, The Blue Highways take inspiration from American roots music and infuse it with their British sound and background.

The band’s second single, ‘Play Johnny, Play‘ sees them joined by six of the leading guitarists on the UK’s Americana scene. Evoking a time when guitars ruled the airwaves, they wanted the track to encapsulate “everything we love about that kind of music. Since joining the Americana scene we’ve had the pleasure of meeting some amazing guitarists, and to have them all agree to come and play on this track was an incredible honour. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Having built a reputation as a commanding live act driven by big vocals, close harmonies, and narrative led songs, they’ve already supported some of the biggest acts in the genre including Iris Dement at the Sage Gateshead, and Bennett Wilson Poole on their first UK tour.

The band also appeared at numerous festivals over the past 12 months including AmericanaFestUK, Summertyne Americana festival, Millport Country Music Festival, Noshville and Wild Tweed and are regulars on the London gigging circuit having recently played with The Fargo Railroad Co, Speedbuggy USA and Matt Woods and the Natural Disasters.

WITH SUPPORT FROM

TENACITY

Headed by Brit School educated, London based singer-songwriter Ula Wodarz, the band Tenacity masterfully blends an exciting and eclectic range of alternative folk, jazz, blues and rock.

LEON C + BAND

Leon C is a young contemporary folk singer songwriter born in Southampton Hampshire. From the age of 7 Leon had taken a deep interest and found a love for music by artists from the era of his father in the 60s and mother in the 70s and 80s. After 9 years of playing guitar with classical training, Leon began mixing his love for poetry and vintage music with his more modern influences to create poetically inflected, contemporary folk music. Two years later and after releasing his debut album “Please” in 2018, he is out with a new set of songs, playing with both a band and solo and bringing new stories to audiences around the UK.
